Difference Between Electric Mobility Options

The world is moving ever closer to electric mobility, and there will come a time in the near future when we will see far more electric vehicles operating on the road. Whether you’re feeling uncertain about this future or are excited to have more electric options available to you, it’s important to understand the different types of electric vehicles that are out there. 

After all, being an electric vehicle doesn’t mean it operates only through battery-electric power. Such vehicles are great for some people but others may prefer to ease into electric vehicle ownership.

A great way to do that is through plug-in hybrid models. These contain both a battery and a fuel tank, and therefore, both an electric motor and a gasoline-powered engine. This results in improved efficiency, but it also allows the vehicle to operate on pure electric power if you want it to or a combination of electric and gas. It won’t be able to go hundreds of miles on just the battery power like a fully electric vehicle can, but you will have the option for short distances. 

This aspect is what makes the plug-in hybrid different from your typical hybrid. Without the ability to operate on only electric power, general hybrid models don’t need the ability to plug in.

Honda Electric Options

Honda has already begun the electrification of its lineup with the inclusion of two hybrid models. One is the Accord Hybrid, with the 2023 model starting at an MSRP of $31,895. The other is the CR-V Hybrid, starting at an MSRP of $32,950 for the 2023 model year.
