What Are the Best Cars to Buy in 2023?

Here at Honda of Marysville, we love Honda models. That probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise. You might think of us as biased, but when it comes to our love for Honda vehicles, it truly is authentic.

That said, we can understand that you may be hesitant to take a dealership’s word for how great their vehicles are. We get it. That’s why it’s always nice when an unbiased third party backs up our claims for us. It seems that is what has happened with Consumer Guide’s 2023 Best Buys list.

Honda Civic and Ridgeline Make Consumer Guide’s Best Buys List

That’s right, the Best Buys list includes two key Honda models for this year. If you’re unfamiliar with the list, Best Buys is essentially a list of the best vehicles across 18 different segments, ranked by the automotive editors over at Consumer Guide. 

For 2023, the Honda Civic earned its place on the Best Buys list for the compact car segment while the Honda Ridgeline was named a Best Buys in the compact pickup truck segment. For drivers in the United States, a place where domestic brand pickups are often seen as the top options, Ridgeline’s inclusion is a huge deal. Moreover, the Civic earned a spot on the list for the 6th year in a row, while the Ridgeline earned its spot for the 7th year in a row.

In addition, since 2014, Honda cars and trucks have been named to this Best Buy list 36 total times. This is a testament to their tremendous value, both as new cars and as pre-owned models, as well as their advanced amenities and performance capabilities. These aren’t the only awards these models have won either. The 2023 Honda Civic was named a Best Car for the Money by U.S. News & World Report, while both the Civic and 2023 Honda Ridgeline earned a place amongst Car and Driver’s Editors’ Choice list for this year.

A lot of consideration goes into these rankings. Some of the criteria that are looked at include performance, accommodations, resale value and price. Over 150 new vehicles are taken for a test drive as part of this process, so they definitely do their due diligence. Oftentimes, only a few vehicles are chosen in each segment.
